Just 45 mins southeast of the Crescent City is one the best saltwater fisheries in the country, if not the world. Whether its sight casting flies or fight with various in shore light tackle the opportunities abound for both skilled and novice anglers alike. The close proximity of the fishing grounds to the city center of New Orleans allows for quick trips out to the marsh or longer journeys into this unique biome.

Our bread and butter. The gold bars of the marsh. The ultimate game fish of the inshore waters of coastal Louisiana. These fish and be taken on 7wt-9wt fly rods or medium action spin, on various styles of flies or lures

Jack Crevalle

Hard fights and screaming drag are often associated with this these migratory monsters. During the warmer month, especially during the late summer and early fall, ravenous hoards of these beast cruise the edges of the marsh looking for a fight. If you intend to angle for these fish, stretch your arms and eat your wheaties.

The “cajun permit” as they are commonly referred as, are plentiful around the oyster beds and reefs of the marsh. Known to be challenging to catch on fly elsewhere, these fish are willing and ready to take a well placed fly. Sheepshead can still be taken with ease on light tackle spin gear.

Black Drum

Found in large numbers during the more temperate times of the year. These large bruiser are hard to miss and can often be seen tailing in shallow ponds feeding on the bounty of bait that the marsh provides.
